Remember this is a very small update for devices running Android 4.XX still, it will surely improve the stability of the OS and will also fix some know issues like inconsistent WiFi connectivity, APN improvements for certain carriers, and other bug fixes. The rollout of OxygenOS 4.0.2 is incremental as always, that means it may take some time to reach all the devices.

So far I'm at 85% battery left with 1:20 SOT so I'm sure there is no negative effect on battery life.OnePlus has started rolling out the OxygenOS 4.0.2 for OnePlus 3-3T, this is the third software update for OnePlus 3-3T within the last 20 days. I'd like to bring this to the attention to the OnePlus team and maybe make them consider setting this as the default CPU Governor. For some reason the interactive CPU Governor causes massive stuttering, and setting it to conservative (or ondemand) makes the phone as smooth as a Pixel. That's when I tried switching to ondemand and conservative to see how they performed and it shocked me that the phone was still buttery smooth. I experimented more and figured out that only the Big cores on performance were enough to keep the smoothness. Of course that was enough to get a constant 60FPS everywhere, but that drains the battery. I decided to figure out why it was still stuttery compared to AOSP, rooted my phone and downloaded Kernel Adiutor.įirst I tried setting the CPU Governor of both the Big cores and Little cores to performance. Building and diagnosing PCs, no problem, but this stuff really throws me for a loop.

I want to root and install the AK Kernel for better battery life, and this stuff is really confusing to me. So I was messing around with the latest Open Beta and found out that there were still stutters by using GPU Profile Debugging. I have been searching for days for a tutorial on rooting OxygenOS 3.1.0 but I can only find extremely poorly made 3.0.2 and old 2.2.0 videos and tutorials.
